JIM COSGROVE & THE HICCUPS

BIOGRAPHY

Jim Cosgrove has delighted audiences throughout North America and Europe for more than a decade, including two performances at The White House Easter Egg Roll. Cosgrove is leading the family music scene in the Midwest, and is the founding President of the Kansas City Jiggle Jam.

After giving up his career as a journalist and corporate PR professional, he discovered his true passion and purpose in life – helping families laugh and sing together. His approachable style and ability to immediately connect with children has made him a cool favorite on the concert tour circuit, especially with parents, many of whom have dubbed him the “Jimmy Buffett for kids.”

FAMILY CONCERTS: Jim Cosgrove knows what kids like to laugh and sing about. And he’s taken that knowledge along with guitar and a box full of instruments around the country and world singing songs for kids of all ages. During his high-energy concerts there are opportunities for children to play along in one of several impromptu "jam" sessions. From songs about hopping bugs, dancing dinosaurs, and red wagons, Jim takes audiences on a musical adventure that encourages them to express their rhythm and their individuality.

PUBLIC PERFORMANCES: Whether with his band, or solo, Mr. Stinky Feet’s concerts are interactive for the entire family. His laid-back style and ability to immediately connect with children has made him a cool favorite on the concert tour circuit, especially with parents, many of whom have dubbed him the “Jimmy Buffett" for kids.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM: Cosgrove performs nearly 300 shows throughout the country each year. Approximately 200 of those are in elementary schools. The program length is approximately fifty minutes, and is best suited for PreK-6th grade.

Respect the Rhythm -In an interactive, character education program, Cosgrove demonstrates the relationship between music and other disciplines. He teaches students about honoring and expressing personal rhythm in everyday activities such as, sports, homework, and music. Cosgrove emphasizes the importance of respecting yourself, others, and the Earth. The program length is approximately fifty minutes, and is best suited for PreK-6th grade. Unplugged and Off the Grid – A fully solar-powered and interactive show during which students can see and hear how the sun’s energy canned be harnessed and turned into electricity and, ultimately, music. Building upon his theme of “respect” from his “Respect the Rhythm” program, Cosgrove uses music and rhythm to emphasize the importance of respecting yourself, others, and the earth. This program features the songs “We’re Electrons” and “The Sound of the Sun.”

CORPORATE KEYNOTE: Jim’s motivational seminar, Live like a child! Succeed like a child! is available for teacher conferences and corporate keynote presentations. As a former public relations officer for Sprint Corporation and a nationally known corporate trainer, Jim draws on his own experience to remind all of us that we can take our work too seriously. Cosgrove believes that no matter our occupation, taking a more child-like (not childish) approach to life can make a remarkable difference in our pursuit of success Download our Corporate Presentation 3MB PowerPoint
